A.I.R Rohtak is one of the branch of all India Radio.It has two transmitter. One is of 20 KW MW transmitter and of is 11 CW FM (Vividh Bharti).Transmission The studio is situated at Subhash Road Rohtak which is about 2 and 1/2 Km from Bus Stand Rohtak. The programmes are recorded here and broadcasted from here, however news are broad casted directly from A.I.R Delhi ( Local news from Chandigarh).
The transmitter is located at Madina which is about 19km from Rohtak Studios. The two sections are interlinked by studio transmitter link Telephone lines.
AIR Network :-
(a) All India Radio (march 1. 1986) has 88 radio station, 128 mw transmitter. 35 SW transmitter and 4 VHF (F.M.) Transmitter in its networks, with the completion of the schemes in the sixth plan, the network will have 98 radio station 142 MW transmitters. A.I.R. network covers 85% of area of country.
(b) Vividh Bharti And Commercial Broadcasting Services : There are at present 29 commercial broadcasting centers, the 2 high power SW transmitters at Madras and Bombay also cary transmission.
(C) Insat Network Scheme : The Insat Network Scheme for programmes extended to 56 station of A.I.R. as on march 29, 1905.
(d) News Bullentins :
News Service division A.I.R. breadcast everyday 269 bullentins in a duration of over 36 hours in its home/external and regional services in the home service from Delhi. 81 bulletines are put in 19 languages for a duration of 11 hours. 30 minutes. The regional news uits numbering 41 broadcasts 128 bullentins including 3 from delhi in about 60 languages and dialects for a duration of over 16 hours.
(e) Monitoring Services :
The Monitoring Services of A.I.R. monitors 144 transmitters daily from 26 radio station in the world to feed the news services division to serve the listeners with news without consideration time gap.
(f) External Services :
(1) A.I.R external services broadcasts. daily programmes for 57 hous and 15 minutes in 25 languages for broadcasts programme in 15 foreign languages in 28 transmission for about 20.5 hours a day. The general overseas services in English in four transmission for 9 hours and 30 minutes in a day. Overseas services broadcasts in 8 Indian languages in 17 transmission for a duration of about 27 hours and 15 munutes a day.
(2) External Services Division supplies recording of different type of programmes to more than 100 foreign broadcasting organisations.
